Super Strikers!
Southern Indiana United's U11 Strikers hit the target at the weekend when taking the White River Classic in Noblesville.
Paul Duckworth's troops came home with a three game unbeaten record, after wins against Fishers SC (5-0), Hoosier FC (3-2) and Carmel United (3-2).
The boys got off to a flyer against Fishers, helped by a Parker Davidenkoff hat-trick, as well as goals from Jacob Hedrick and Alex McLaughlin. Strikers then came from behind to beat the Hoosier FC White team 3-2 after being down 1-2 at the half. Goals were scored by Jacob Hedrick, Adam Cantrell and Matthew Siebert.
In the championship game on Sunday, SIU beat Carmel United Premier White, a team which had not lost a game this season. Despite an early goal by Zach Yagle, the U11s found themselves 2-1 down.
However, another fight back ensued after Parker Davidenkoff tied the game up with a free kick, followed by a Jacob Hedrick shot to the right corner late in the first half. Strikers held on with a great defensive effort in the second half to win the championship 3-2.
